Jessica Rose & Other Wedding Details

My friend and Bizmark roomie from Miami just made the cover of Columbus Bride. She looks fantastic and her wedding was a blast. I brought the magazine to the office to show all of my co-workers. Jessica- thank you. You make me feel famous!

On another note, I called my mother to see what kind of music I should put in our slide show to highlight our childhood. It's pretty hilarious because everytime she mentions a song suggestion, the sentence starts with "remember when you had that pocket rocker of the song..." YES, I did have a pocket rocker and YES, I did get beat up on the bus for over playing the song"Wip Out" by the Fat Boys (great song, you should listen to it.) Needless to say, I will not be playing any songs from the 80's, especially my favorite- Carribean Queen or George's favorites- Best of UB40. Awful!

Don't judge a book by it's cover...

One interesting thing about being in real estate is the opportunity to go through the homes people live in- see the art they choose, their decor, food they eat, etc. I find it a unique anthropological study to see how one's possessions illustrate individuals, especially in regards to the books they purchase (and put on display.) It's hilarious to recount some of the infamous books I've run into:

"Cats and Those Who Love Them"- This just screams- DIRTY HOUSE or WEIRD OWNER

I've actually shown a house where the homeowner had a book on Hitler in their bookshelf and the visitor LEFT the open house because they said they were offended.

The latest house I went into featured these titles:

"Monstrous Compendium"

"Dungeons Master Guide"

"Deities & Demigods"

"Forgotten Realms"

....I was convinced that I would come under some freakish spell if my clients didn't buy the house. We'll just have to wait and see. Crazy!

Caesarette the dog trainer!!

For the past week or so, our great friend Ashley has been staying with us. Selfishly I would like her to stay with us to keep me company while George is in school, but she's found this AWESOME apartment across the hall from Linsey Hartung. Needless to say, I'm super jealous because those girls are going to have so much fun and perhaps start up our book club- aka- wine night.
Poor George is going to have to go back to watching re-runs of Gossip Girl, Grey's and ANTM. The other reason that I'm super upset that Ash is leaving is because she's the female version of "Caesar the dog trainer". She's transformed Lu Lu into a great listener and "ball player." George, Lu Lu, and I are so sad to see Ashley go. We are taking applications for future roommates. Great cooks and dog handlers preferred.

Our first entry!

Today was a big day. We received our photo proofs from our first family photo shoot. The amazing photographer, Melanie Mauer (http://www.melaniemauer.com/) did a remarkable job photographing our little Lu Lu.

The second big news is that George got a NEW CAR! His "trash can on wheels" is no longer. Thankfully George and I can now take car trips without feeling nauseous. We are currently taking votes for the new "car name." It's a silver Ford explorer with the infamous "3 GRL" license plates (that unfortunalty have not been retired.) Look out for this hot rod hitting the streets of Wyoming.
